1. Las Vegas, NV
If you're a cat person in Las Vegas, NV, the maximum number of cats you can own without a permit is 6. If you are a dog person, you may own no more than 6 adult dogs in Las Vegas. Puppies under the age of four months aren't considered adult dogs. According to Chapter 7.14 of the LA Code of Ordinances, all pet dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, and potbellied pigs over the age of 4 months must be spayed or neutered. Additionally, all pet dogs, cats, and ferrets over the age of 4 months are required to be vaccinated and obtain a current and valid license issued by the City.
2. Henderson, NV
Without a permit, you can own no more than 3 dogs in Henderson, a neighboring city to Las Vegas. The is also a limit of 3 cats per household in the city. The city code also does not allow the keeping of more than 3 rabbits, 3 ferrets, or 1 potbellied pig without a permit. To own more than 3 cats or 3 dogs in Henderson, a pet fancier permit is required. This permit allows you to own a maximum of 5 adult spayed/neutered dogs and/or 5 adult spayed/neutered cats.
3. North Las Vegas, NV
The city of North Las Vegas municipal code allows no more than 3 cats, 3 dogs, and 3 ferrets per household without a permit. Dog people in the city may obtain a Dog Fancier Permit to own up to 6 dogs. A Cat Fancier Permit is also required for the ownership of up to 6 cats. There is a mandatory spay and neuter requirement for all dogs and cats kept as pets in the city of North Las Vegas. A license issued by the City is required for all dogs and cats over the age of 3 months. There is also a rabies vaccination requirement for all dogs, cats, and ferrets over the age of 3 months.
4. Reno, NV
A maximum of 5 adult dogs is allowed per residence in Reno, NV. There is a limit of 7 adult cats per household in the city. Cats and dogs under the age of 4 months are not considered adult animals, according to the Washoe County Code. To keep more than 5 adult dogs and/or more than 7 adult cats, a Variance Permit is required. An application for a variance permit must be submitted to regional animal services. The County Code makes it unlawful to own a dog, cat, or ferret in Reno, NV, which is not vaccinated against rabies.
5. Enterprise, NV
In Enterprise, Clark County, Nevada, no more than 3 dogs over 4 months of age are allowed per household without a permit. The town also limits each household without a permit to 3 adult cats, per the Clark County Code, which also applies to pet owners in Sunrise Manor, Paradise, and Spring Valley. Only cats over the age of 4 months are considered adults. You may obtain a dog or cat Fancier Permit to own up to 6 sterilized dogs and up to 10 sterilized cats.
6. Carson City, NV
A maximum of 3 adult dogs and 3 adult cats is allowed per household without a permit in Carson City, NV. By "adult dog or cat," the city code means dogs or cats over the age of 6 months. Carson City residents wishing to own more than 3 dogs or cats may do so after obtaining a permit from Animal Services.
7. Nye County, NV
The keeping of up to 5 dogs or cats is allowed per household without a permit in Nye County, NV. A "Tier I Multi-Pet Permit" is required to own a total of 6 to 10 dogs and cats. 8. Fernley, NV
The City of Fernley allows no more than 3 dogs per residence without a permit. This restriction does not apply to dogs under 6 months of age and dogs being used to herd or protect livestock. All pet dogs in Fernley, NV, must be vaccinated against rabies, as required by the city code, which does not restrict the number of cats you can own. However, it does require that all pet cats living in the city be vaccinated against rabies.
9. Mesquite, NV
Per Mesquite's municipal code, you may own no more than 3 dogs, 3 cats, or 3 ferrets over the age of 3 months. You may keep dogs and cats in a combination not exceeding a total of 5. For example, you may own 3 dogs and 2 cats or 3 cats and 2 dogs. A dog or cat fancier's permit is required to own up to 6 dogs or up to 6 cats in Mesquite, NV.
10. Elko, NV
In Elko, as in many other Nevada cities, each household is limited to 3 dogs or 3 cats. A dog or cat fancier's permit is required by the city code to exceed the limits. With this permit, you may own no more than 6 cats or 6 dogs.
