A maximum of four dogs or four cats may be kept in a single dwelling unit in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Exceeding this limit is considered a kennel, which is allowed only on property that meets applicable zoning requirements, according to the Cheyenne Municipal Code. Notwithstanding this limitation, you may keep a litter of kittens or puppies in a single dwelling unit until they reach the age of four months. Every pet four months of age or older kept in the city of Cheyenne must be vaccinated against rabies.
2. Casper, WY
The maximum number of cats and dogs you can legally own in the City of Casper is three. Per City Ordinances, it's unlawful for you to keep more than 3 cats and/or 3 dogs on any premises within the City limits unless you obtain a kennel or cattery permit. The operation of kennels and catteries is permitted in the City only in areas properly zoned for this type of operation. In addition to dogs and cats, no more than 10 of any other pets, excluding fish, rodents, and small cage birds, are permitted on a single premises.
3. Gillette, WY
Each household in the city of Gillette, WY, is restricted to 3 dogs and/or 3 cats. However, this limitation does not apply to cats and dogs until they attain the age of six months. According to the city's Animal Code, a residence where more than 3 cats or 3 dogs are kept is considered a Cattery or Kennel. You need a Non-Commercial Kennel or Cattery permit to own more than 3 dogs or 3 cats in Gillette, Wyoming.
4. Laramie, WY
In Laramie, WY, pet owners are limited to 4 domestic animals, including cats, dogs, and potbellied pigs. You may keep these animals in any combination not exceeding a total of 4. However, cats, dogs, and potbellied pigs under 120 days of age aren't subject to this limitation. The Laramie Animal Code requires that an outdoor shelter be provided for every cat, dog, or potbellied pig left outdoors unsupervised for 15 or more minutes.
5. Green River, WY
You may keep no more than 3 dogs or 3 cats at your residence in Green River, WY. According to the Green River Animal Code, any residence that keeps 3 pets of the same species, over the age of 3 months, is deemed a kennel, which is subject to all zoning ordinances. This restriction does not apply to pets under the age of 3 months nor to small caged birds, or aquatic, or amphibian animals kept solely as pets.
6. Jackson, WY
Keeping more than 2 dogs over the age of 3 months on any lot, residence, or premises in the Town of Jackson, WY is deemed a public nuisance. The Town Animal Code does not restrict the number of cats that can be kept in a home. However, it does require that every cat and dog residing in Town for more than 30 days be licensed. Dogs and cats are prohibited in any Town Park within the Town limits. The Town also has a pooper scooper law requiring all dog owners to clean up after their canines in a sanitary manner.
7. Rawlins, WY
You may have 4 cats and/or 4 dogs without a kennel permit in the City of Rawlins, WY. According to the Rawlins Animal Code, any lot or premises where more than 4 dogs and/or cats are kept is deemed a "Hobby Kennel," the operation of which requires a license.
8. Worland, WY
The City of Worland allows residents to have up to 10 dogs or cats or any combination of dogs and cats not exceeding a total of 10. According to the city's municipal code, any person who owns more than 10 dogs or cats, in any combination, must obtain a multiple-pet license and pay, in addition to the regular licensing fees, a flat fee of $50 each year on or before January 31.
9. Mills, WY
Each residence in the Town of Mills, WY, is allowed to have a maximum of three adult animals. You may have no more than 3 dogs and/or 3 cats over the age of 6 months in your home. This restriction does not apply to dogs and cats under 6 months of age nor to authorized kennels or catteries. Any person found in violation of this pet limit law will be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $750, according to the Town Ordinance.
